Heyla Kit. Go look at my Ad on LJ and tell me what you think of it. Also, I wish these blogs came with 'friend' options. Then I could friend you and read you automatically when I logged into my blog instead of looking up the site on favorites.
Questions:
greatest books you've ever read? I'm only picking one for each of these. I'd have to say C.S. Lewis' 'Until We Have Faces'...it's a retelling of the myth of psyche and cupid from psyche's older sister's point of view. It's very very good and I was so emotionally linked with the main character. You bond and identify with her and then there's this bit of a twist at the end of the book...you're proven that her p.o.v. was selfish and not loving as she thought it was. "How can we meet the gods face to face...Until we have faces." Meaning how can we give our petitions before the gods until we ourselves understand our own motives and actions.

greatest movies you've ever seen? This one's just so hard. Like the book one was. I'll name two. One is 'A Wrinkle in Time' because the movie managed to do justice to most of the descriptions in the book. And it played up on a few extra things that couldn't be placed on screen and made exciting. The other one is 'City of Joy' with Patrick Swayze. Doctor goes on vacation and I think loses his visa or something. Gets stuck there and works for this hospital. Doesn't want to at first and then falls in love with the people. And it's an arabian country, like pakistan or india. The scenery is beautiful and the cross cultural representation is fantastic.

if there's any charities you could support or would support, what ones?
Reach the Children. Organization in Kenya. Helps kids and adults learn to better themselves. Builds schools and digs wells. I'd like to go there someday and help them in their efforts.

what would you like to do to change the world around us, around you? Teach children to work towards their goals. Cuz nowadays people are so lazy and expect so much to be given to them. I'd also want to teach people to be less realistic and to dream more. Be more creative. Cuz too much realism will kill you. We need to dream. That and I'd like to be the kind of art teacher I wish I had. Or cultivate a program to create such teachers.
